Riad Noir d'Ivoire is situated directly in the
heart of the medina of Marrakech. The owners,
Jill Fechtmann, interior designer, who was based
in France for about 10 years, renovating and furnishing
properties for overseas investors
and Jean Michel Jobit, designer notably in the
perfume and drinks industry internationally.
Both fell totally in love with Morocco and especially
the magical city of Marrakech, and they decided
to open their luxurious Riad as a small "hotel
de charme", offering top service in a discreet
and elegant oriental setting.
Every aspect of comfort has been thought of including
large comfortable beds, fine egyptian cotton bed
linen, that you just melt into and nearly all
the fabrics in the riad have been handwoven using
interesting combinations such as linen and leather.
Each suite or bedroom has an original style, incorporating
furniture and objects in a range of materials
from camel bone to sculpted metal.
For that extra touch the four suites have open
fireplaces, ideal for chilly evenings or just
for sheer pleasure. The restaurant and lounge
bar open on to the main courtyard, where you can
dine by candlelight or sip an original cocktail,
while listening to jazz on the baby grand piano.
The menu is both innovative and creative, proposing
both Moroccan and international cuisine for lunch
or dinner and the chef is only too happy to organize
a dinner "à deux" on the roof
terrace with a spectacular view of the city.
In the "cosy" lounge, furnished in
a more European style you will discover feather
filled sofas and bookcases oozing with books waiting
to read. A Hammam Beldi (traditional steam room)
and massage room awaits guests where a full time
beautician has the power to massage away all the
stress of everyday life and offers personalized
facials and treatments.
Jill and Jean Michel have only one aim in mind,
to provide guests with impeccable service, ultimate
comfort and to do everything possible to realize
the dreams of clients. From the moment they arrive
and have their luggage carried by "Peanuts"
- the donkey - to the door of the Riad.
